In the late 80’s a pop group called Milli Vanilli stormed the international music scene. Their music was signature 80’s and one of their most popular hits was “Blame it on the Rain”. Milli Vanilli sold millions of records around the world and were rewarded with a Grammy Award in 1990. But the good times were not to last as the award was taken back after it was discovered that the voices on the records did not belong to Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus; and that they had defrauded everyone and their pet gerbils. One of their most popular songs, “Blame it on the Rain”, had a chorus which should be adopted by Pakistan’s Taliban sympathizers – both overt and covert. It went like this:

“You can blame it on the rain

Cos the rain don’t mind

And the rain don’t care

You got to blame it on something

(Blame it on the rain)

(Blame it on the stars)

Whatever you do don’t put the blame on you

Blame it on the rain yeah, yeah”
